The What If ... ? Treatise

by Janet Williams

This short essay has been formulated around experiences and observations during the recent Universal Medicine workshops and courses in the  UK and from the experiences as I see and feel them here in OZ. The trips to the UK provide an opportunity to reflect and really witness the responses and unfoldment of the people who are going through the healing trainings, due to the six month interval between visits. I find it incredible how much softer, stronger, steadier, clearer and so forth many of you as colleagues and regular participants feel to me from one visit to the next. Likewise these changes are ever so present in the local students as they have a steady and regular access to the work through raja yoga and other workshops etc.

The beauty of it is, of course, that these changes have been brought about by yourselves, whether you are here or whether you are on the other side of the world.

For all of us there are also many instances of struggle and challenge as one moves forward. These are made up by the resistance and interference we meet on the way. By posing certain questions I hope to inspire further personal reflection on what it is we are working towards and look at what gets in the way. In doing this we can also consider the implications of the term “healing” in its various forms for ourselves and mankind in general. The primary question around which all the others are based is:

What if?

What if … what Serge says is actually true?

I feel impulsed to ask this question to highlight what I know many feel – that we are living in a time of great opportunity. Through the recent release of the second Christ energy, humanity at large has its greatest possibility to come to awareness of and reconnection with the soul. And in Serge we have a divine messenger, to walk us through this exciting time in our evolution. In which case, we have the potential to turn things around and dissolve the great illusion of separation and isolation in which we have been existing for such a long time.

Is this an accurate picture? Do you really think this is possible? Can you imagine what it would be like to live without illusion of any kind? I feel these questions are less about what Serge is capable of but more about what we ourselves have access to. I know that Serge could not do the work that he does without being a living example of what he is teaching. We have experienced how he can tune into a group of 60 people and bring into precise clarity that which, until that moment, had been at the edge of their expanding consciousness (collectively and personally). Have we really considered the implications of this for all? I think we are happy to acknowledge that what Serge says is possible, but somewhere along the line we often doubt it in ourselves. I feel that, in order to make best use of the opportunities of this time, we have to break through something more, in order to love ourselves enough to really pay attention and vigilantly discern and honour ourselves in the choices that we are making in helping to bring the kingdom of God to earth. If we really do believe that we are equipped (with Christ energy and Serge’s guidance) to achieve this, what is it that is stopping us from really going for it?

We have all experienced at workshops, either contact with our souls or the presence of divine energy. If this is our natural state of being, why do we not put all effort into making it our way of life? What is more important than this?
So the questions below are to assist in the enquiry of what it is that keeps us separate when we have the knowledge and the “good timing” to change things once and for all? For each individual the answers may be different.

What if … energetic responsibility and integrity were the norm?

People often blame the circumstances and relationships in their lives for the inability to hold on to their soul connection. But this already indicates a lack of love for self and another. When we are steady we can clearly see what is not serving us, but also that it is up to ourselves entirely to create the conditions of our lives. We cannot put anything on someone else for we have allowed ourselves to be disempowered through lack of love. How we are in relation to others is reflected back to us, as others can be inspired by the measure of our light. Once we take full responsibility for our quality, the quality around us automatically changes. We then start to operate with the true sense of compassion, in just observing the laws of God in action. To live or work with people who have energetic integrity is like a divine playground.

What if … in our daily lives we experienced the truth of non-separateness?

An answer to this one, I believe, is harmlessness. Once we can clearly see that by hurting another we are harming ourselves, the way we lead our life alters dramatically. This experience is a result of soulful living, and a real sense of connection through the nervous system. So, even if someone is in their personality or spirit, it is possible to connect at a soulful level and energetically manage the interaction with the rest of them! To respond to a stranger from a place of harmlessness, with a soulful impulse, can open them up to a new possibility. This is the true meaning of inspiration.

What if … there really is no death?

Can you imagine a life without fear? To see this life as another opportunity to be a point of light on earth opens it up to greater creativity. It helps us see that this is not our home, that there is a greater existence of which we are all a part. And so what else is there to do here but serve and inspire truth in others?  We also have attachments to our family and friends and fear for their safety and wellbeing. If those around us, for whatever reason, resist the light to the extent that it may cause them harm, we must observe and respect the choices they make and trust in the soul’s design for their evolution.

What if … all the participants of the Universal Medicine work were actually in the livingness of what they had learned?

Brotherhood is the answer here. Serge speaks often about the responsibility and influence of living in soul consciousness. It is through our group work and the quality we take into the world that a collective difference can be made. And this is how “heaven on earth” is made possible. Through the Alice A Bailey books we are referred to as the New Group of World Servers. What is required in order to embrace this role more fully?

What if … there really is a legion of disembodied spirits instructed by the Lords of Form to prevent us from stepping fully into our light?

As we raise our vibration, these lower energies become more obvious to us. For many, astral beings are as real as physical forms and a part of daily life management. To discern energy that is not divine does take time and continues to be a challenge, since these beings know every trick in the book! It does help, however, not to let “the universe” guide you, to make your own choices in each moment and claim it in consciousness. Until we claim ourselves, they will always have access to our physical vehicle and will use our energy (kidney chi) to fuel their existence. Without the distraction of outer influences would we live and breathe stillness and only express from our innermost, our true fiery way of being?

What if … there really is a Plan for humanity and a Hierarchy of Ascended Masters for this planet?

It is not difficult for anyone to imagine that there are beings who have already mastered the stage of evolution in which we find ourselves. All through this current era mankind has been guided by them as they watch and wait for us to turn our eyes towards the truth once more. As the Tibetan often remarks in the Alice A Bailey books, it is not that they are withholding information about the plan from us, but rather that we are not preparing ourselves to receive such knowledge. Let us take advantage of the teachings from and through Serge, and not for a second consider him more godly than you or I.

What if … the only definitive influence in your life was the impulse of your soul?

Once the difference between the spirit and the soul has been clearly experienced, everything changes. We “do” ourselves in our spirit, and spend a lot of time defining, figuring out and arranging our existence. Life is a lot simpler once soul contact is established as the soul impulse is never wrong. To hold out for the impulse lets you honour your integrity and enables you to live in grace. When we are able to stay connected to our soul consciousness (Ishvara), we can then connect to all things and can gain knowledge of the original divine impulse behind them. If we believe this is possible, why would we ever consider using our lower minds? With this ability, we will clearly see the illusion behind it all. To be ‘unveiled’ exposes you to a freedom that has been craved deep within for many many lives.

Although there may not be new information presented here, I hope that the questions and reminders will serve in some way to identify areas of obscuration or resistance, and that it may be possible to shed new light on these areas.   I sense in some of the people we meet in the work, that they doubt they deserve the good fortune to have stumbled across the truth of God on earth at this time. And even when Serge speaks directly to their hearts, it somehow seems too good to be true. This self-doubt and lack of self love (juicy emotion for the astral plane) is apparent in the stretch it seems to take to actually accept that we are all equally the sons of God. If, even through imagination at first, we can overcome this tendency to doubt and, instead, trust our experiences of divine love and connection, what great service and inspiration we can provide for every person who crosses our path.  This is the true work of healing – in inspiring another to find their way back to the truth. Potentially, are we not all then the externalisation of the hierarchy on earth?

The essence of the work that flows through me is in line with that which can be called sacred and esoteric by nature. It is non-traditional, following no allegiance to any cult, form or belief other than that which is found intuitively at the heart centre in accordance with the spirit of the hierarchy. No claims are made other than the stance that the work like all other before us should always be ascertained by the individual to be the work of truth and if not, then so shall it be.
